Chris Bonehill

Chris Bonehill – Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Chris Bonehill founded Norstar in 1998. Chris began his professional shipping career at Clarksons in 1989 as a ship broker. He established Norstar initially as a UK based shipping brokerage firm, focused exclusively on major ship owning clients, and led its international expansion into its currently diversified maritime activities including investment, brokerage and fund management.

 
Tom Bonehill

Tom Bonehill – CEO, Norstar Shipping (Asia) Pte Ltd

Tom Bonehill is CEO of Norstar Shipping (Asia) Pte Ltd which he founded in Singapore in 2005. Tom moved to Asia in 1993, initially spending a year in Jakarta followed by a year serving onboard a merchant navy vessel. Between 1995 and 1997 Tom trained as a ship broker with Clarksons in Hong Kong. He moved to Singapore at the end of 1997 where he has since worked continuously, building an extensive portfolio of blue-chip Asian clients with particular focus on South East Asia and Japan.

 
James Fleming

James Fleming – Advisory Board

James Fleming is an international banker with over 25 years’ experience. He is Head of International Private Banking with Coutts & Co and is a member of the Management Committee of the Bank. James joined Coutts in 2002 from SG Hambros where he was Managing Director of UK Private Banking.

 
Soren Halsted

Soren Halsted – Advisory Board

Soren Halsted brings a wealth of shipping experience to Norstar. He joined the Clipper Group in 1993 and is now the Chairman of the Board of Directors of: Clipper Group A/S, HH2 A/S, Sundkrog Property A/S, CS & Partners A/S, CS&P Property A/S, CS&P Ships A/S; and is a Board Director of: Nordic Tankers A/S, Harbour House A/S and K/S CEC Enterprise.

 
Gary Washer

Gary Washer – Corporate Development Director and Advisory Board

Gary Washer has 25 years of experience in international mergers and acquisitions. In 1987 he co-founded and was CEO of CAM Galaxy Holdings, a European investment group, backed by Citicorp, Nomura, Security Pacific and other institutions, which bought and sold over 30 companies. Gary advised Acxiom Corporation, EC Soft Group, General Dynamics and other multinationals on acquisitions and divestments in Europe.
